Colourful Summer paper bouquet and crown.

I love summer and the warmth the colours and all that summer brings. This summer I had the pleasure of be part of several style shoots for wedding photographers. Todays post is all about the summer bouquet. It is filled with bright warm colours and Arthur Korbiel Photography captured it perfectly.

This stunning flower crown is perfect. Shimmery pale pink gerbers, red rose roses, forest green succulants and some green ivy on a stunning ivory base.

Doesn't she look amazing. Great job Arthur!

Here is the matching bouquet. LOVE.

Wedding signs...

Good morning,
I have been away for a bit and working hard at new designs for my on line store, studio and wedding show events.
This post is all about the Wedding Chair Sign, I love the look of the chalkboard signs that I just had to make one with paper flowers. How cute is this...

I'm HERS and I'm His wedding chair signs for the head table. I love the tree peony so much that I added them to the corners of the sign with a orange and red for HER and blues for HIM.

I than thought that after the wedding you could hang them over the couch or even the bed. Fun home decor too.

Hope you enjoyed the wedding signs and paper flowers for today.

These lovely signs are for sale in my etsy shop.

Top of the morning to you.....

Good morning,
I wanted to share with you the first floral piece of art I did. This top hat I made with individual cut dollies and glued together to form a cylinder shape took me a month to create. I love the delicate look of it and thought how about adding some flowers to it. I began by creating some very simple flowers and then adding them to the side. I kept going with more flowers and finished it with a lovely butterfly with the same dolly pattern.

I loved this piece, it was designed for a contest but it didn't win but I was very proud of my design never the less.

Thinking out side of the box is the best way to create one of a kind pieces and really to have fun. Even after cutting 100 dollies I still had fun.

Keep the crafting fun alive,

Hugs,
Laura

Seeing Fall colours.....

I am just a sucker for Fall....I love the colours and I love that we get to wear layers and watch the leaves turns.
Today I designed a few flowers with rich oranges, and teals with a hint of brown and ivory. Can't go wrong with that combo.
I added some natural cotton branches which soon I hope to make out of paper but all the same they are stunning with these tree peonies. Free down load file at Lia Griffith.com

I did modify a little the centres to make it more my own spin but they are stunning in the original form.

Have a wonderful day and stay tuned for the full lines of paper products using these stunning flowers.

Grab a prop and strike a pose......

Good morning, I am so sorry for not posting yesterday....I have been busy finishing up two full wedding and snapping a few final photos before they are shipped off. I love that my flowers last forever and can be shipped...haha.

Are these not the most amazing paper flowers you have seen today....lol. I just love the details.

I can't wait for the wedding to happen and see how OUR VISION came together. Really it was all hers but I helped.

Even the grooms, and groomsman flowers are so pretty.

On that note, have a wonderful day and see you soon,

Its all cake to me.....or flowers!

With wedding season in full swing its nice to look back and take in the simple yet striking wedding cake. I designed this lovely set of cascading flowers for a romantic Paris inspired wedding cake. The flower are of several varieties and I just love how they flow.

The best part of this cake besides the cake is that the flower will last forever and can be kept for years to come. Wouldn't they look amazing in a shadow box along with the cake pictures and other wonderful pictures taken the day of your special day.

Not just paper flowers......3-d paper art too!

I do love making paper flowers but my start was in 3-d paper art. I was asked to contribute to a style shoot with the theme of Cinderella. I had created this lovely 3-d carriage from the wonderful svgcuts files. I added my own twist and made it completely white not just white but shimmery white. I love this paper. Don't you love this paper and how it turned out. I love the added details of the pearls to the door handle and the centres of the wheels. What a lovely style shoot this was.

Check out the svg file from svgcuts:

All about the simple statement...

Sometime less is more but that doesn't mean that you can't make a statement. I designed this extra large paper poppy as a single bouquet to make a grand statement as she walks down the aisle. Wow does it ever. Simple white and black flower has an elegant feel.

What statement would you like to see as you walk down the aisle or it your not getting married how about a single flower in a vase in the front entrance of you home. These statement flowers can be used for many applications. Home decor, weddings, or just a fun flower to dance with.....

Enjoy your day and the possibilities......

Something blue...

The saying goes something old, something new and something blue....why not wear something blue in your hair on that special day. I designed this unique hair comb for just that. Two blue orchids and a white day lily on a clear comb. I hand twisted crystals for that added bling.

I love all of this special piece of paper art. Lets design one for you....

Enjoy the sunshine,

Laura

Gathering ideas...

Good morning,

I thought I would share a little of how inspiration comes when creating for a custom bridal bouquet. One of my lovely clients sent me a piece of her wedding invitation envelop line. This has been her colour theme for the wedding....which is an amazing idea.

I collected my papers and matched the sample with my paper. Once the colours were layed out I was ready to start the process of  flowers. I or we ( bride ) decided the statement flower would be the Peony...which is done of my favorite flowers I have been designing. It has such wonderful details. The center is so much fun and lots of work but very much worth it. Once that flower was made I decided on 2 more flowers.

Here is a sneak peak of the process and I will keep updating as I go and the final bouquet.

So as a note...when you are looking at creating a custom look start with inspiration may it be a photo, fabric, scrapbook paper or your favorite pair of earring and pull your paper and flower will start to flow....

Hugs,
Laura

A little potted rose....

There are so many roses to love and today's post is all about the potted rose plant. I love the tear drop shaped petals of these potted rose. I made them for my studio and the best part is they look lovely everyday.

I went to my local dollar store and purchased a clay pot, some moss and a foam circle. I cut the circle in half and glued it in place. I added the moss to the top of the foam half circle and my potted plant was started.

Then off to my stack of papers and I decided on Tutu Pink as my rose colour. I love tutu pink....it is soft and pretty. I then cut out my roses and inked the edges for a more realistic look. Cut out several leaves and attached them to the stem of each rose. I pressed the three roses into the foam.

This potted rose is perfect for giving as a gift to a friend, host or for yourself.

Enjoy the sun.....
